Antigua’s Caribbean setting shapes the island’s relaxed pace of life. Set along a white sandy beach and surrounded by tropical gardens, Galley Bay Resort & Spa is an adults-only resort where tranquillity and island living take centre stage. With accommodation directly by the sea, quiet corners tucked among the greenery and personal service throughout, the experience is centred around slowing down and enjoying the surroundings

Between beach, gardens and wellness

Galley Bay is spacious, yet never feels impersonal. Most rooms and suites sit directly along the beach, while the Gauguin Cottages are more secluded, nestled between lush greenery and the water. The relaxed Caribbean atmosphere can be felt throughout the resort, whether guests choose to explore the island or simply spend the day by the sea.

That same sense of calm continues at Indulge Spa, hidden among the resort’s tropical gardens. Treatments take place either in air-conditioned treatment rooms or outdoors, with the natural surroundings close by. The menu includes massages, facials and body treatments, several of which take inspiration from Antigua itself. Local ingredients and herbs from the spa’s own garden create a clear connection between the treatments and their setting.

Comfort during longer wellness rituals

Some treatments at Indulge Spa last up to ninety minutes and combine several stages. The Lemongrass & Ginger Body Wellness treatment, for example, includes a herbal foot bath using ingredients from the spa garden, followed by a body scrub, wrap and finishing back massage. During longer treatments like these, the treatment bed plays an important role in the overall guest experience.

For its treatment rooms, Galley Bay selected two multifunctional Velvet Evo W4 Pro Podo treatment beds in Continental Birch. Their light, natural finish sits comfortably within the calm interior and tropical surroundings of Indulge Spa.

Siân Parry Jones: hospitality design at Galley Bay

Designer Siân Parry Jones played an important role in bringing the treatment spaces at Indulge Spa together. With extensive experience in spa and hospitality design, she was closely involved in shaping an environment that feels in tune with the character of Galley Bay.

As part of her vision for the spa, Bellezi was selected for the treatment rooms. The result is a natural fit, where practical functionality and guest comfort work alongside the relaxed atmosphere that defines the resort.
