Cosmetic procedures surgical versus non-surgical
Cosmetic procedures are medical treatments aimed at improving a person’s appearance. The goal is typically to make aesthetic changes, either to boost self-confidence, rejuvenate the appearance, or correct certain physical features considered undesirable. Cosmetic procedures can be either surgical or non-surgical. Let’s take a look at the different types of procedures.
Surgical procedures:
- Facelift: Tightening and rejuvenating the face by removing excess skin and repairing the underlying tissues.
- Liposuction: Removing fat deposits from specific areas of the body.
- Breast augmentation/reduction: Changing the size or shape of the breasts.
- Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty): Removing excess skin and fat from the abdomen.
- Rhinoplasty (nose job): Changing the shape or size of the nose.
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty): Correcting drooping eyelids or under-eye bags.
Non-surgical procedures:
- Botox injections: Reducing wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles.
- Fillers: Plumping lines, wrinkles, or volume loss, often in the face.
- Laser treatments: Treating skin discoloration, scars, or unwanted hair.
- Chemical peels: Improving skin texture and color by removing the outer layer of skin.
- Microneedling: Stimulating collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer skin.
